About Sackville Apartments
Sackville and Lower Sackville are located north of Halifax, approximately 30 minutes away by car. Although technically a part of Halifax Regional Municipality, Sackville has been historically independent as its own town. However, it has officially been a part of Halifax since the mid 1990’s.
The region is a traditionally a lower cost area, with many affordable housing options, and a lower cost of living. Sackville apartments include mainly low rise buildings, usually fewer than 7 floors tall. Although there is an array of Sackville apartment buildings to choose from, the majority of rental units are houses. Houses and flats are available for a wide range of pricing and amenity options, with options to suit many budgets. The large number of housing rentals has resulted in a significant portion of the area being inhabited by families, with many choosing to take advantage of the affordable rent.
Although Sackville apartments are generally much more affordable than their city counterparts, the primary drawback is the commute time required into the city. The daily commute does require the use of a highway, which makes it susceptible to slowdowns during bad weather and rush hour. The city provides high speed bus transit, which links Sackville directly with downtown Halifax, to help alleviate such issues.
