About Bedford Apartments
Bedford is officially part of Halifax Regional Municipality, but historically was an independent town until amalgamation took place. Previously it was simply known as the Town of Bedford.
Bedford is located on the northwestern shores of the Bedford Basin, running from Hemlock Ravine Park, along Shore Drive, and up to the Bedford Bypass. The area runs partly up the Hammond's Plains Road, up to Sandy Lake. This 6km square area features beautiful views and natural scenery.
Housing in this area is typically slightly up-end, featuring new apartment buildings well kept houses. Given the lack of universities nearby, Bedford apartments are typically rented by more mature tenants. Bedford has many apartment buildings to choose from, ranging from new high-rise structures, to smaller individual apartment buildings and houses for rent.
One potential challenge for Bedford apartment dwellers is the sometimes long commute until Halifax, as the Bedford highway is often congested with traffic, especially during rush hour. Although high speed bus transit exists, this may be something worth considering.
