About Halifax Apartments
The
Halifax Core area includes much of traditional Halifax peninsula, from the South End to The Hydrostones. This includes
Dalhousie University (Dal),
St. Mary's University (SMU), and Nova Scotia College of Art & Design (NSCAD). This 4km square area includes Downtown Halifax, from South Street to Barrington Street, to Young Street. The search area extends west through Connaught Avenue and to the bottom of Quinpool Road, intersecting the Halifax Rotary.
This region is made up of a mix of historic Victorian style houses, with many well over 100 years old, and range to apartment buildings and condominiums. Presently the area is seeing a great bit of growth, with new developments taking place, many in the form of large apartment buildings and condos. Close to the universities, many of the houses have been converted to flats for rent, and used primarily for student apartments for rent. While there are many apartment rental options in the Halifax core, one drawback is that rental prices are also traditionally some of the most expensive in Nova Scotia.
Every year over 10,000 students call this area of Halifax home, so it's no surprise that there are many apartments for rent.
