Have you lived here? Write a Review! RATS, RATS, RATS! They are everywhere in this building. I've seen them in the main halls, the laundry room, and in the unit I (thankfully) will be moving out of at the end of this month . They can be heard scurrying around the unit, which is very audible at night, a great way to lose sleep! These furry critters aren't the only pests you'll have to deal with if you choose to live here. The management here is garbage. Fake, greedy, and incompetent are the top three adjectives I would use to describe the people "managing" this place. The resident managers, an old married couple, will put on a great face BEFORE you sign the lease, after that, pray that nothing goes wrong in your unit because if it does it will take multiple requests for anything to be done, if anything gets done about it at all. For example, I requested a peep hole to be installed on the door shortly after moving in, I'm a single female and this was a SAFETY CONCERN for me and was vocal about that. Still, nothing was done after repeated requests and after being assured it was on their to do list (which must be imaginary). I spend most days at my boyfriend's when I'm not working so I eventually dropped it, it's easier than dealing with these people. They are professional at acting as your best friend and telling you what you want to hear when things are good or before you're trapped by signing with them. Don't be fooled, they don't care about you or your wellbeing, and God forbid you have an issue or decide not to renew your lease you will be treated like a third class citizen. Which brings me to my next point, if you're a person of a minority ethnic group, you will be treated differently. This is coming from personal experience, as well as speaking from other people who have lived (and since left) here. These people are bullies and will try to intimate you into keeping quiet if you have complaints. If your English isn't perfect and you don't know your rights, they will try to take advantage of you. Don't get me wrong, it's not all bad at Harbour Ridge: Rodent Lodging, if you don't have to deal with management. The location is great, um, the ceilings are high...? Most tenants are younger, which can be a pro or con, unfortunately I have noisy neighbours who throw loud, wall shaking parties on a weekly basis. And on top of the construction that starts early in the morning on weekdays, it's a hard place to get sleep if your work schedule is all over the place like mine. For the cost, much better buildings are around, I've searched and found. With better people managing the buildings, I've met them and talked to their tenants. I can't recommend enough for everyone to steer clear of this apartment, mostly because of the people managing it. If you decide to try your luck, keep your fingers crossed that you don't have to interact with the managers or their assistants. I will never live in or recommend a realstar managed building to anyone. It's a disgusting and shameful introduction to Halifax.
