Chang\'s Property

To be honest, I am so surprised and shame on this anonymous post on January 2019. I have lived in this building since September 2017 and this is the best apartment building I have ever lived in. Not only they provide me a clean and safe environment to live but also they immediately response to any help I need (like I accidentally locked myself out of my room more than one time). The common areas were being cleaned every day. I also would like to mention how good they handle the snow shoveling. I really appreciate their work so I don't have to worry I won't be able to get out of parking lot for work.

PS. I think I know who you are since I overheard you trying to exaggerate dishonest statement and being negative to the building. I am so glad I don't have to live in the same building with you anymore.

If I could give less than one star I would. Renters beware. The building is full of water damage and mold growth. The building is also overrun with spiders, ants, earwigs and mice due to the lack of floor(wish I were joking) in the basement entrance area.
The whole building has a mere 3 machines, and plot twist, they don't work properly. Many times myself and several others in the building report needing to wring out our laundry and dry it upwards of 3-5 times.
I have made written complaints that go unresolved due to this renter's ego. Every time I have had an issue it immediately falls back 9n the tenant, whether it is at fault of the tenant or not.

I think this is the best place I have ever lived so far in my life after I moved out from my parents. I can not tell how much appreciation I have towards Dr. Chang and the whole management team. Not only towards the superintendent who always make sure the snow is being taken care in the early morning when most people in the area has not shovel. Also, I really would like to thank manager Candy for understanding my financial situation due to recently being cut hours and the rent has to be paid late. Instead of kicking me out or make me in stress, she gave me extra time to pay the rent. There are all kinds of landlords and tenants out there and I heard a lot of stories how mostly tenants balm their landlords but I just want to say Chang's Property has provided me a warm, clean and safe place to live. They are not like other landlords who never respond to your issues or just want money, they actually help you out all the time! Thank you so much for everything and I would definitely recommend people to live here.

This is the best comfortable apartment I have lived in so far. ( I have been living in three apartments life time) No loud parties and no yelling people

I decided to rent from them because of recommendation from my friend who has been living in this building since 2013. I am very surprised from the previous review, because according to my friend and mine experience, we only had one changed. (I have to say this current super is great and friendly, he always help everyone out immedicately) For example, my fuse blow out again ( it was my fault since it is the second time in a week) on a weekend and I put in my request to get fix. At first, I was not expected someone would take care for me but instead the manager replaced it for me without any charges even though it was Sunday.

Dr. Chang and the management team were the best friendly landlord I ever had. They helped me prepare moving in without any stress ( they will give you a moving reminder to remind you what you should arrange prior moving in whereas other landlords in the city never help out, all they want is money).

Before I rent the apartment from them, I had concerns too because of those people out there like the previous reviewer who wrote down bad dishonest reviews. But, I have to say that I am glad I gave them a chance and listen the recommendation from my friend.

Worst experience living in an apartment (I have lived in three apartments in my lifetime).

When you first move in, Mr. Chang (Dr. Chang actually as he will tell you) will inform you that after one month grace period anything that breaks will be your responsibility (whether it is your fault or NOT). I asked what if the fridge broke, he said it was impossible since it was new! This was a definitely a red flag when I moved in.

A pair of wall plugs stopped working and I was told I needed to pay them to fix it (it was not my fault, these were bad plugs). The apartment did not come with a peep hole glass, and I had to buy my own.

During the year and a half I lived there, we went through 3-4 superintendents.

Do yourself a favor and do NOT rent from here, it is far from luxurious. It is very affordable for the area, however you will feel stressed during the move-in, move-out, and anytime you need anything repaired.

P.S. Good luck getting your full deposit back.

Very unpleasant, uncooperative, and arrogant landlord who clearly has no sense of a responsible business ethos. What a strange man.

Very nice place. Very comfortable, lots of space, beautiful apartment. The landlords are very friendly and helpful. Great prices! I would recommend it to anyone, great for students.

The apartments here are fully renovated, are close to the University, the landlord and superintendent are friendly and helpful and it is a quiet building. I enjoyed living here a lot and would recommend it to anyone wanting to live in the South end.

Horrific. Third-world. Problem after problem after problem. Mice, broken appliances, broken fixtures. "Solution" after "solution" after "solution", none of which was ever close to adequate. No fire alarm. No buzzer system. No help or respect from landlord or superintendent.

I wish we'd gone to the board of health, but we moved instead. My partner tells me that when our regular pizza guy visited us at our new building, he congratulated my partner on our wise decision. I think that says it all.
