Have you lived here? Write a Review! Worst place i've ever lived hands down. The landlord, Scott Coulter is a nut job. Before I even signed lease agreements on the place he tried getting me to pay for August rent even though I wasn't moving in until September. That should have been my first clue. But for some reason I wanted the place bad enough. The outside of the building looks neat..thats the only reason I wanted it and I sure learned my lesson. The apartment was a basement apartment. It had old fashioned heaters on the outside of the walls that would burn you if you touched them. The whole place was filled with mold. I got sick immediately after moving in and had to buy a dehumidifier and keep it on full blast at all times just to remain semi-healthy. And I was still sick allllll the time. The door looked like someone had kicked it open at one time because it was almost in two pieces. When it rained, the hallway outside of my door would flood so I pretty much had to swim into my apartment. On my last month there, the ceiling in the bathroom started to leak. So I called the landlord and he sent over a crew of 70 year old men to look at it. They put a bucket under it and left it. It then started to get worse and while i was at work the bucket would overflow and id have a mess to clean up every day after work. Finally after enough complaining, they actually went to the floor above me and realized that their TOILET was leaking down into my apartment. I got this information from the workers, Scott wouldn't admit to it when I asked him. Anyway, they fixed the leak. But by that time the paint had started to peel off of the walls and you could actually pull rotted material right out of the wall. That never DID get fixed. I was only there for a few months in total, but scott came into my apartment one night with an eviction notice. The notice made no sense and would have been illegal if I had taken it to the tenancy board. But I was THRILLED. I wanted out of there so so bad and this was my chance. He told me I had three months to get out..and "maybe he'd decide to let me stay if things worked out by that time"...lol..no thanks Scott. The very next night I had that place subletted and off I went. Getting the damage deposit back was just as bad. Normally landlords will give it back on the day you leave when they inspect the place. He came and inspected and told me he would mail me the cheque. So I waited and waited..a month went by and no cheque. Had to text him a few hundred times and then finally I got it. He was probably hoping I had forgotten about it. The cheque looked like it had been thrown in a mud puddle and crumpled up into the tiniest ball before it was sent..but I didn;t care because that was the last I had to deal with Scott Coulter. I understand that he has a few apartment buildings around the HRM. I would advice steering clear of him. A few months ago I actually met someone that used to live in the same building and he had horror stories that were just as bad, if not worse than mine.
